Speech and Swallowing Continuum is dedicated to evaluate, diagnose and treat swallowing disorders as well as any speech, language and cognitive difficulties. We provide Clinical Bedside Swallow evaluations as well as Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing. We also provide both informal and formal Speech, Language and cognitive evaluations and therapy. Therapy includes dysphagia therapy with use of NMES (Vital-Stim) as well as treatment of Aphasia, Dysarthria, and deficits related to Traumatic Brain Injury, stroke, Parkinson's Disease, and/or Voice.
Samantha G Hernandez has been a Speech Language Pathologist for 17 years working in both private practice as well as acute, inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient medical settings. She has taught Speech Language Pathology graduate students as both a full time assistant professor and adjunct professor at Carlos Albizu University. Her research interests include evaluation and treatment of dysphagia, sarcopenia dysphagia, and preventative intervention of these in the health care setting by examining and implementing change in health care process systems.
